Here you’ll find some of my more recent sailing videography.

THE OCEAN RACE EUROPE 2025

Shoreside GVs and interviews

During the stop-overs it ended up being me capturing much of shoreside media for The Ocean Race as well as for news, so much of the shore side b-roll and interviews in this video is shot by me for ex.

Capturing every arrival

Every team arriving was captured and interview by me, luckily sometimes I could have someone else asking the questions for me resulting allowing me to focus on the technical side. Sometimes this would mean the day starting at midnight and continuing on into the night after due to a spread out fleet.

Anticipate and always ready

During the start of leg 1 there was a collision between two boats. While the rest of the videographers were stuck out on the water I had decided to stay on shore on stand by I case something happened during the start forcing a team back. I could capture loads of initial reactions due to this and then anticipate where Holcim would go (same place as Guyot after their crash in 2023) and cover that entire repair over a couple of days.

CLIPPER RACE 2023-2024

During the Clipper Race, we had a very limited data allowance as OBRs and relied on a basic Inmarsat system. This meant everything that was sent had to be edited onboard into proper stories, unlike The Ocean Race, where raw timelines are usually sent to shore for further editing. In the end, I shot, edited and delivered just over 40 of these stories, also known as boat feeds. We also shot constantly for a documentary series, you can find the trailer below.

South Atlantic

Some wet, dark sailing with a few mishaps when bound for Cape Town onboard the yacht Qingdao.

Southern ocean

Humor and excitement in the Southern ocean onboard Washington DC as a big low approaches us, with Skipper Hannah Brewis rounding up with some weather updates for the viewers.

Rounding Tasmania

Iconic moment finally leaving the south in some pretty wet conditions while sighting the beautiful Southern Right Whale Dolphin.

North Pacific

A disastrous day for the team enroute from Qingdao to Seattle, with the most important sail breaking with a fairly dramatic recovery.

Documentary series

While at sea I shot about 20TB of footage for a documentary series produced by Sixteen Degrees South. In this trailer almost all offshore shots, including drones, are mine.

East China Sea

Encountering more sharp nasty seas sailing towards Qingdao onboard the yacht Qingdao.

North Atlantic

A bumpy start of the last race from Oban, Scotland into Portsmouth, UK, where it all began.

RACE HIGHLIGHTS

During each race in the Clipper Round the World Race, I worked to create a highlights video that would be edited by the shore production team and ready within 24-48 hours of our arrival. This involved putting together a rough timeline with key moments to help the editor tell the story of our leg, and then handing it over as soon as we cleared customs.

Short but sweet leg

On this race, I was the only OBR in the fleet, as the other OBR had the race off. All the onboard footage here is mine. The team had worked so hard for five months to reach the podium, and capturing their emotional finish as they won the race was a rewarding experience. The video is a bit longer, but skimming through it should give you an idea of my storytelling and camera work. I particularly like the ending, where the crew, after only knowing me for a few days, opened up to me and shared their feelings on camera.

CORPORATE AND SOCIAL CONTENT

In addition to shooting for boat feeds, highlights, and the documentary series, we also received a range of other requests, including filming sponsor products, creating content for trending social media, and producing promotional videos for each leg.

Sponsor video

One request was to shoot for the race partner Sena. They provided a wireless coms system. This was the resulting video from that.

Leg promotion video

Since the Clipper race relies on paying crew we shot one leg promo for each leg. This particular one is 99% my footage.

Reels for social media

Here’s some of the more viral reels edited by the Clipper comms team from footage I sent off the boat.

THE OCEAN RACE 2023

During The Ocean Race 2023 I had two main roles. I was in charge of shooting the VNRs on site. That meant quick turn around work organizing and doing pre-race interviews with all the sailors, arrival interviews, in-port race interviews as well as B-roll of all the arrivals and dock-outs. This content would normally be used for socials to some extent as well.

While not shooting for news I was producing quick turn around content for The Ocean Live Park. I delivered short stories, promos, informative content and other fun content to be shown on all the screens around the park, while also assisting in arranging competitions and live shows in the park.

Race previews

Prior to each leg I was responsible for interviewing all sailors for VNRs. These interviews was sent out with all the VNRs and would usually get used in the social content as well, like in this race previews for example.

The Ocean Live Park

Here’s one of many storys produced for the visitors in the ocean live park. Here’s Georgia Schofield recalling the dismasting of Holcim PRB.

The Ocean Live Park

Here’s one of many sponsor promotions videos. Volvo was about to launch their new EX30 and asked us to push this in the park so we had a few different promos recorded and going on the screens through out the day.

11th Hour Racing Team crash

Shoreside quick turnaround coverage for VNRs and socials. Interviews and some/most dockside B-roll by me.

Arrivals

During every arrival I would be on the docks getting b-roll of the arrival and interviews with all the sailors. This would go out as VNRs as well as recaps for socials.

The Ocean Live Park

The park content had a big spread and was not only serious informative content. During a rainy day in Genova me and Jesse Tuke made the most of it. With the purpose of simply keeping the park (a)live we made new content every day.
